This is a gastronomic experience like no other at La Coruña to discover Galician specialities, mainly fish and seafood, with private guides. We will start at 11:30 and finish at 21:30 with free time from 15:30 until 19:00.

What’s included?
• English speaker guides
• Chocolate con churros (or any other hot drinks with pastries)
• Visit to the Market
• Aperitivo: one vermouth (or any other drink) and one tapa
• Lunch: tapas, dessert and two drinks (beer, wine or soft drink)
• Cooking Masterclass: cocktail, seafood three-course dinner, dessert, coffee or tea, and two drinks (beer, wine or soft drink)

We will meet at 11:30 at Pencil & Fork (Alfredo Vicenti 29), a cosy and stylish establishment in the centre of La Coruña, to start our great day with a ‘chocolate con churros’.

With our local foodie, we will then visit the famous and vibrant food market at the Plaza de Lugo. We will see the never-ending varieties of seafood and fish just coming fresh from the boats every day, ready for selling. The market also hosts a second floor for meat and poultry, and a third one for veggies and fruits. We will be witnesses of the trading environment with the locals. A great opportunity to learn about the Galician gastronomic culture, one of the best (if not the best!) in Spain. The guide will buy all products we will need for the Cooking Masterclass we will enjoy in the evening.

It will then be time for an ‘aperitivo’ so we’ll go to a local bar specialised in ‘vermouth’, the very well loved aromatised fortified wine we will already enjoy with a nice tapa. The vermouth will open our appetite, thus we will enjoy a tapas lunch and dessert at a typical ‘taberna’ nearby. The first part of our day will be over around 15:30 to have some free time to enjoy the city or a well-deserved siesta!

At 19:00 we’ll come back to Pencil & Fork for our Cooking Masterclass. After a welcome cocktail, we will prepare a delicious seafood dinner (with the products bought in the morning at the market) enjoying a nice local wine or beer too, of course. Dessert and coffee are also included. We will finish around 21:30. Are you in?

CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations made 72 hours or more in advance of the event date will receive a 100% refund. Otherwise, a voucher of the same amount will be offered in order to book future activities. Cancellations made by the organiser will incur on a 100% refund.

I am Managing Director at Pencil & Fork where we organise workshops as long as they are original and fun (all of them announced on this website). We also rent our space for private events such as corporate events, birthday parties, hen/stag nights, cooking clubs or any other special ocassion, with or without catering. Re my own courses and activities, I studied Chemistry at Salamanca University and I’m certified in Science & Cooking by Harvard University. I just love cooking and, above all, the science behind it!

Ana Fariña

I am Marketing Manager at Pencil & Fork responsible for event organisation and English courses. I have dual Spanish/British nationality and I am the co-host of English speaking experiences at Pencil & Fork, like the Gasto-Day at La Coruña when I´ll be your personal guide.
